October 7th - One year ago today I received the bad news that I had cancer. Today I am cancer-free! My PET scan in June showed absolutely zero cancerous cells or tumor activity, in fact, the tumor has been shrinking steadily, and what remains is just dead tissue. My blood work has consistently shown zero cancer, and even though a doctor hasn't officially said the word "cured", I'm taking all of this information as evidence that it is gone.
What a year this has been, and hopefully the sun is rising on a new and better life for me and my family. We have been able to pay off the medical debt as well as move to a better house to help our health and allergies improve. I have been bombarded with intense headaches this summer, but am starting on some new medications that may help with those. We are working on continuing a healthier diet and lifestyle, and are open to whatever other changes we need to make to help our family and our health.
I have a follow-up with the surgeon early next month, and will hopefully have my port removed (especially since no medical facility I've used in Texas will make use of it!). I did my last immunotherapy iv in September, and will plan on continuing some healthy juicing and hormone-therapy medications to keep any cancer from returning. I'm so grateful for how things turned out for me, I don't feel worthy to have this ending to this journey, but for some reason the Lord has shown mercy to me in giving me this result. Thank you all for your prayers and support. I will live life in gratitude and obligation to make use of this gift I have been given!
